Greater Forward Framework: Identity

The Crux is built upon the cross, not only as the place of salvation, but as the intersection of faith, purpose, identity, and mission. Every element of the design flows from this truth. Nothing stands apart from Christ because nothing in the life of the Church exists apart from Him.

At the center of The Crux, the cross is intentionally re-formed into a pathway. It proclaims that brokenness is never the end of God's work. Through Christ, what has been broken becomes “the way” forward. The pathway is narrow in conviction yet open in invitation, reflecting the call to discipleship while extending the grace of Christ to all who will answer the “Great Commission.”

The Crux is described in the Five C’s, expressing the character of Greater New Light through five enduring values:

• Christ: the source of our identity.
• Conquest: the victory we have through Him.
• Compassion: the heart with which we serve, and the redemptive work of Christ love on the cross.
• Commission: the mission to which we are called.
• Community: the people we are becoming together.

The colors of The Crux are intentional. Sapphire reflects the sovereignty, majesty, and faithfulness of God, the enduring presence that has guided Greater New Light for more than 52 years. White represents the righteousness, purity, and wholeness found only through Jesus Christ. Silver, featured in select expressions of The Crux, symbolizes refinement, reminding believers that discipleship is the lifelong work of being shaped into the image of Christ.

The Crux is engrained in Greater New Light, in worship, discipleship, service, digital spaces, and throughout the community, not simply as an identifying mark, but as a constant reminder of who this church is called to be. A people shaped by Christ, living in His Conquest, moved by Compassion, committed to the Commission, and united in Community. Because The Crux is more than the identity of Greater New Light. IT IS THE GOSPEL MADE VISIBLE!
